Benjamin Franklin learned that plaster scattered in the fields would make things grow. He told his neighbours, but they did not believe him. They argued with him, trying to prove that plaster could be no use at all to grass or grain. After a little while he allowed the matter to drop and said no more about it.
Early the next spring Franklin went into the field and sowed some grain. Close by the path, where men would walk, he traced some letters with his finger, put plaster into them, and then sowed seed in the plaster. After a week or two the seed sprang up. As they passed that way, the neighbours were very surprised to see, in brighter green than all the rest of the field, large letters saying, “This has been plastered.” Benjamin Franklin did not need to argue with his neighbours anymore about the benefits of plaster for the fields. Another of his experiments Benjamin Franklin was told by “experts” to stop all that foolish experimenting with lightning Louis L’Amour, successful author of over 100 western novels with over 200 million copies in print, received 350 rejections before he made his first sale. He later became the first American novelist to receive a special congressional gold medal in recognition of his distinguished career as an author and contributor to the nation through his historically based works. Young Dr. Ignatius Piazza fresh out of chiropractic school, wanted to open a practice on the beautiful community of California. The local chiropractic community told him that there were not enough potential patients to support another practice. For the next four months, Piazza spent ten hours a day going door-to-door and introducing himself as a new chiropractic doctor in town. He knocked on 12, 500 doors, spoke to 6,500 people and invited them to come to his future open house. As a result of his perseverance and commitment, during his first month of practice he saw 233 new patients and earned a record income for that time of $72,000 in one month! Dr. Seuss’s first children’s book, I may have used a couple of examples on those who got their writings initial rejected by publishers, but don’t get me wrong. It’s not all about books here, these rejections and their subsequent success could happen in any other field. Dear reader, your commitment to your goal will make it possible for any obstacle to be subdued. Ed McELroy once said, “Commitment gives us new power. No matter what comes to us , we never turn our eye from the goal.” To our success! |
It appears to me that there are more birds than human beings. In spite of this, I have never seen two birds colliding in the sky. God has prepared enough space for all of them. Similarly, the earth was designed by God to permit everyone to flourish without necessarily pulling others down. You don’t need to pull others down in order to climb up. You don’t need to destroy others in order to build yourself. You don’t need to talk evil of others in order to appear good. You don’t need to make others poor because you want to be rich.
I have seen many people in organizations attempt to pull others down because they wanted to climb up, and I think they are making a fundamental flaw in life. Judas Iscariot wanted more money, and he thought he could do that by betraying Jesus. He ended up hanging himself on a tree while helping Jesus Christ to fulfill his purpose. That’s why you shouldn’t be disturbed when you see others trying to pull you down. In reality, they are only assisting to push you to the place of purpose. Conversely, you should never be the one trying to pull anyone down.
As you journey through life, I want you to go with the mindset that there is enough room for all. In whatever you do, remember that being a stumbling block to others does not grant you a stepping stone. Flourish … and let others do the same.

Hardly far was His walk
When He met a companion owing
But a farthing compared to his debt
Strangulating was His hold
despite pleas for Mercy
“Never!” he bellowed
“YOU MUST PAY BACK!”
time was sought
but “never!” came the hasty response
For He had forgotten the master’s care
All be paid was his claim
Not a part but all
not most but all
not many but all
Never to leave till he had
paid the least farthing
Aching the master’s heart felt
For How could love be repaid so
How could one forgiven so much
yet render such in return.
Do you have aught against your brother or does he have against you? Remember Christ’s love for us. While unlovable, weak and without strength he chose to love. Let us also so love one another with a heart large enough to forgive the vilest of offenses.

According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Philippians 1: 20,21
I attend church services regularly and its always a lovely sight to see the saints lifting up holy hands in the worship of God. Some songs we sing really stir me up emotionally as they call my attention to the sacrifice of Christ upon the cross.
But I wonder if the sacrifice of praise goes beyond what we express in singing. I wonder how many people in the Body of Christ would go as far as saying with Paul, “I don’t care whether I live or I die. I just want Christ to be magnified through whatever happens. And to make that a reality I’m going to adopt a lifestyle that lays my life on the line, repeatedly, for His Name’s sake!”
Let Christ be magnified in you.

One of the greatest principles occurring over and over in scriptures is the power of words.
WORDS! WORDS!! WORDS!!!
Words are double edged. Words we speak and words we hear. Both are very important. Let’s start with words we speak.
Somebody once said that he was great because he was standing on the shoulder of great men. Understanding words is learning the power of the greatest.
Let me ask you. How was the world formed? How is the world sustained? How will the world be destroyed?
“By faith we understand that the things which are seen were made from the things which are not seen”
From where do we understand? From creation. “and God SAID let there be…….“and God SAID let there be…….“and God SAID let there be……….and it was so.
The simplicity of creation displays a very potent tool. All things seen were made from the things not seen by the word. Whatever God wanted he spoke forth FIRST. Everything that came to being was first spoken. Everything! God operates by calling “those things that are not as though they were”. Learn that. Call, speak, say what you want as if it is already. The power of life and death lies in the power of the tongue.
Speaking Gods word to your life creates your future. Speaking words in line with Gods word ensures that future. It really does not matter where you are today. If you consistently speak what and where you want to be tomorrow, you will get there. It doesn’t matter if you feel you believe it or not. God honors His words. He honors the words you speak. He honored the words of Joshua to stop the moon and the sun…..he honored the words of the Israelites and they did not see the Promised Land. As they have said to his ears, so he does. Whichever way you speak, it is honored.
Kenneth Copeland summarizes it this way “YOU ARE THE PROPHET OF YOUR LIFE”. Life responds to what you say. What you say creates what you said. All things act in a way to produce that which has been spoken. Jesus acted and lived in a way to fulfill that which was spoken by the prophets. It gladdens my heart each time I read “that it might be fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet….” in scriptures.
Don’t speak anyhow. Be wiser than the people of this age who chant regularly exploiting this powerful tool of life.
You are liable for the words you speak because they determine your tomorrow. Everything that happened in my life till date I spoke forth at some point in life. Positive and negative. So I know where I will be tomorrow because I speak my tomorrow today.
Watch your words. Use them correctly. Speak your tomorrow today. Don’t be careless with words because they will be honored.
When you wake up speak, when you work or walk speak, when you are faced with a situation speak the outcome you want…..always call what you want the way you want it.
With your words you set on fire the course of life.
Don’t forget.

Today, I wake by the power of Him who loved me
Today, I live by the assurance of Him who keeps me
Today, I excel by the power of Him who works in me
Today, I pray to the one who by grace, saved me
Today, I am strong because of Him who healed me
Today, I am purposeful because of Him who called me
Today, I shine because of Him who glorified me
Today, I AM WHAT I AM BECAUSE HE DIED AND ROSE FOR ME
My heart, the lord has been faithful to me
My heart, the lord has been good; can’t you see?
For where you are is far from where you were
And where you will be, He’ll be the one to take you there
